At Bharathi Vidya Mandir Matric Higher Secondary School, students are expected to uphold discipline, personal responsibility, and respect for the school community. The following rules must be strictly observed to maintain an atmosphere of order, learning, and mutual respect:
Any damage caused to school property, including buildings, furniture, library books, laboratory equipment, or sports goods, must be compensated by the student, as determined by the Principal or Headmistress.
Students are strictly advised not to bring valuable articles such as gold ornaments, expensive gadgets, or large sums of money to school. The school will not be held responsible for any loss or theft.
Students must take full responsibility for their belongings, including books, stationery, tiffin carriers, and other personal items. While staff will assist when possible, the ultimate responsibility lies with the student.
Students are representatives of the school at all times. Misbehavior or objectionable conduct outside the school — including during travel to and from school — will be subject to disciplinary action.
Students suffering from contagious or infectious diseases should not attend school until fully recovered. Medical clearance may be requested before rejoining.
Permission from the Principal is mandatory for arranging private tuition with any school teacher. Unauthorized arrangements are not permitted.
Any serious breach of discipline, including disrespect or disobedience towards school staff, will be dealt with severely. Decorum must be maintained at all times.
Students are not allowed to offer gifts to teachers or any member of the school staff. Expressions of gratitude should be shown through behavior and performance.
Frequent late-coming, absenteeism, and negligence in wearing the prescribed school uniform will be viewed seriously and may affect the student’s record and promotion.
Any form of physical aggression or violence, whether inside or outside the school premises, will result in strict disciplinary action and may include suspension or expulsion.
Every student must bring the School Handbook daily. It is a key document for communication and should be maintained neatly.
Students must come to school clean and tidy, with neatly dressed uniforms and well-maintained books and belongings.
To promote language proficiency, all students must converse in English within the school premises.
Boys must maintain neatly trimmed hair. Long hair is not permitted and may result in denial of entry to class.
Students who bring lunch must use napkins, hand towels, and table mats to maintain cleanliness in dining areas.
Students should follow good table manners, avoid spilling or wasting food, and keep their surroundings clean during lunch time.
Although clean drinking water is provided, it is advisable for students to carry their own filled water bottles for personal use.
Any student found in possession of another student’s belongings without permission will face immediate suspension.
Promotion to the next class is based on attendance, regularity, and consistent performance in monthly tests and terminal examinations.
All students are expected to comply with these rules in letter and spirit. Upholding discipline, respect, and responsibility helps create a safe and positive environment for all.
